The Knights of Pythias Grand Lodge in Indianapolis approved a resolution for an aged and orphans home. Lebanon, Indiana is a potential site as Martinsville and Shelbyville also vie. A state fund drive begins February 19, 1925, the order’s anniversary, with local lodges urged to push proposals to the Grand Lodge.
Richard Lieber announced that within a short time the conservation commission will create an 8000 acre game preserve in Brown County four miles southeast of Nashville. The site includes Weed Patch Hill and 83 tracts ranging from one to 560 acres, with land prices from five to eighteen dollars per acre. Funding will come from the division of fish and game revenue and plans were negotiated by Lee Bright with supervision by George N. Mannfeld. The site will be open to the public under published rules.
Mr and Mrs Thomas Caldwell and their son Harold have been in Colorado for a few weeks and are now on their way back, concluding their southern trip and returning home.

Mr and Mrs Jeff Walker attended the get acquainted meeting and oyster supper at the Chamber of Commerce Hall Lebanon Wednesday evening hosted by Guernsey Ice Cream Co for local ice cream dealers. Miss James Gordon is ill with tonsillitis. Rev Geo Wyatt and wife, Mr and Mrs James Gordon and Mrs Minnie Davis were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs John T Jones Wednesday.
Boys Return Kenneth Walker and John Coons who have been in Kansas and Da kota for several months, returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Arlie Hancock were Sunday guests of Mrs. Clara B. McDaniel. Miss Beulah Leap of Kewanna, who has been visiting in Lebanon and Indianapolis for the past four weeks, is now visiting relatives here. Sherman Garner spent day with relatives near Bambee. Mr. and Mrs. Farr Waters and Mrs. Harry Reese spent Tuesday in Indianapolis.
The report notes a fall during a weiner roast at Roy Hiland's home with 41 students present. Russell Plunkett injured a finger. he was taken to Dr. Coons in Lebanon. Social visits include Everett Threlkeld of New Ross with Otto Threlkeld, and Jake Beaver visiting George Joseph and family near North Salem.
Weiner roast hosted by Paul Lucas and J C Lucas families on Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis. Seventh and eighth graders held a roast in Iles Canada's wood last Friday night with several attendees. A large crowd attended Barney Hines's sale yesterday and the property sold well.
The Junior Mission Band gathers October 14 at 7 30 with Francis and Lester Hypes to learn about Bible prayers and how to use them. The program features songs What a Friend We Have in Jesus and Our Fathers Children plus scripture readings and moving pictures by Frieda McSlaine and Geo McDaniel.
Mrs Okla Riner and her son Bobbie along with Mrs R J Riner and daughter Ruth were in Lebanton Saturday afternoon, stopping briefly in town.
Advance, Oct. 9 Mrs. Beaver ordered the post office moved to a brighter, more central room last Thursday afternoon. It is the former Lasley's Jewelry space, now repainted and redecorated. The new setup features four large front plate glass windows and improved arrangements, with Advance Post Office staff expressing pride in the updated office.
Special services start October 13 at Max United Brethren Church. Miss Pauline Todd of Terre Haute First United Brethren will assist the pastor Mrs Lucy R Sharp from October 15 or 17. Todd is a noted music director and soloist and a strong worker with boys and girls.
The Improved Order of Red Men held a county meeting Friday night with 108 in attendance from six of eight tribes. Owasco Tribe Team of Mace conducted the work. Pie and sandwiches were served and a good time reported. More work is planned for tomorrow night and the following Friday.
Dr. W. P. Fletcher of Trouta Canada will speak next Sunday morning on Christian Education and appear at Old Union Sunday evening. An all day Missionary meeting is planned October 15 at Mrs Anna BgBard home. This Thursday is the first Church Night with a 7:00 program featuring church talent, followed by regular business, children announcements, and refreshments. Everyone is invited.
