Attendance at last Sunday’s Sunday School was 116 with a $250 collection and 36 Bibles. Willing Workers meet the first Saturday afternoon each month. Sunday School is at 10 o'clock each Sunday. Preaching services occur on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, both morning and evening.
The Sunday School attendance last Sunday was percent and collection recorded. Next Sunday marks the annual crudge roll day with at least attendance expected. Regular preaching services both morning and evening. A quartette will perform. A choir organized at New Ross last Wednesday with Bert Smiley as leader will meet again Friday at 7 30.

The fifth annual Sunday School picnic of Advance Christian church classes was held at Riverside Park Darlington Tuesday. Attendees enjoyed boating and a large noon dinner. Kern Potts sustained a painful but non serious bruise to her right hand between two boats in the afternoon.
Sunday gatherings include Juanita Coolman with her mother in Lebanon. Wm Pittenger and family and Claude Pittenger with Jess Myers and family shared Sunday visits. Several others from Kansas Morgan Co and Brazil stopped by Wm Weldon’s or Jane and Bess Baker. Lebanon fair moves up next week. John Weldon returns from Michigan trip with Mrs Sefton. A restaurant building was moved causing two window panes to break. Wm Melke of St. Louis visits O A Nelson and wife.
Misses Fern and Made Potts hosted the event last Monday honoring Miss Florence Vawter and Miss Hazel Vawter of Booneville. About thirty guests attended a mock wedding with Paul Honan of Lebanon presiding as officiant. Ebon Lavaunt of Lebanon was the supposed groom. The couple were strangers to most guests and the ceremony drew amused reactions. Ice cream and cake refreshments followed and several out of town guests attended.
Announcement that a cleaning and pressing establishment named Economy Tailoring Co will open Monday August 10 in the room over the furniture store with orders taken for fall and winter suits and samples shown. Patronage solicited.
The Advance Town Board met in special session to receive bids for installing the light plant. OT Hancock Company bid 6441.67 with alternate A 6236.00 and with A and B 5076.67, winning the award at the lowest total. Changes in materials will reduce costs without harming system efficiency and construction will start asap once materials arrive.
