Mrs Clifton Drops Dead At Jamestown Home
Mrs Clifton a 44 year old resident died Sunday afternoon around 4 while seated on her porch northwest of Jamestown. Coroner Bresdel ruled brain hemorrhage as the cause after an inquest. Survived by husband and four children, she was a daughter of former county commissioner George Canada of Jackson township. Funeral services at Old Union conducted by Rev. A L Carney at 11 Monday.

The largest crowd of the season attended the band concert and ice cream supper last Saturday. Automobiles lined the streets as attendees enjoyed a fine performance led by Mrs Cross. A solo by Mrs Cross received strong praise.

A severe thunderstorm swept the county Thursday night bringing heavy rain and strong winds. Telegraph poles were downed and trees were toppled while standing stock suffered from exposure. rain in some localities turned to hail shredding corn. In nearby areas the wind did only minor damage.

John Freemont Miller aged 55 died at 6 30 am Saturday at Williams Hospital after bowel obstruction surgery by Dr George J Cook of Indianapolis. He had bowel trouble since January after typhoid fever and died from acute dilation of the heart. Survived by wife Mary Jane Jones and children Theron I L Vernita M John C and Lucile plus brother Peter Miller and sisters Elizabeth Jane Miller Adeline Thomas Anna Reed. He belonged to the Advance Methodist church and New Ross I C C F lodge. funeral held Sunday at his Jackson township residence with interment at Jamestown.

Attendance at Sunday School last Sunday was 116 with a collection of 2.50 and 36 Bibles. The Sunday School will picnic in the Profi t grove southwest of town. All members are invited to bring dinner and enjoy the day. The young people are preparing a program for Sunday August 24. Some work from the Primary department is on exhibition at the Boone County Fair this week. Willing Workers meet first Saturday afternoon each month. Sunday School is held every Sunday at 10 o clock. Preaching occurs every second and fourth Sunday mornings and evenings.
