George Kernodle of Jackson Township was attacked from behind by a enraged bull while hunting tats with his rifle. He was knocked down and suffered multiple wounds to legs and back and a throat injury. He fired twice as the animal closed in, eventually stunning the bull. A third shot failed to fire and neighbors aided his retreat protected by a small tree until help arrived.
Attendance at Sunday School last Sunday was 24 with collection 224 pounds. Marling Workers meet on the first Saturday afternoon each month. Sunday School occurs every Sunday at 10 before service. Special effort requested to attend morning and evening services on the second and fourth Sundays each month.
Sunday School attendance was 63 with a goal of 75 as visitors joined from Anderson Labsnow and Auebein Cafornia. A box meeting in the grove drew praise, four were baptized, totaling six received into the church including one by letter. Brother Francis plans to extend for a few weeks.

Plans may be obtained from Foxworthy Electric Company for $5. bids require certified check and non collusion affidavit. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any bid.
The Lebanon fair runs August 12 to 15 with 251 entries in nine $500 stake races the largest yet. Auto and “rube” car contests offer prizes, with awards for decor and toughness limited to Boone County residents. Entry detailed by August 11. program in The Advance Hustler August 7.
Roy Ailes his wife and son Baren Edward had a close call last Sunday when driving horses were frightened by a pig by the roadside. The buggy overturned throwing them out. Mrs Ailes suffered heavy bruises but no broken bones. Mr Ailes and Baren Edward escaped uninjured. The buggy sustained minor damage.
In 1912 Muncie police made 12 arrests for all causes including 579 for drunks and 135 for assault and battery. 343 paid fines, 310 sent to work house, 119 discharged. Fines and fees totaled 462.55 dollars. operating costs reached 20170.84. Dry period reduced arrests county jail prisoners and costs, while building and loan deposits rose 223602.82 with a 48 percent rise in associations. The saloon described as a liability and taxmaker.
