Oklahoma City business man Frank Millard Brewer died in a wreck near Tupelo on Wednesday around 7 15 p m. He owned the car and was thrown from the passenger side as the vehicle overturned. Driver Patty Lou Bicknell said Brewer had agreed to take her to Paris Texas and noted Brewer had been driving all day. Brewer owned B and B Supply, a roads equipment outfit in Oklahoma City. The accident was investigated by Vernon Rodgers.

Milburn J Matt a 37 year old Sand Springs welder was executed at 12 04 a m for the drunken slaying of his six year old daughter Mary in March 1949. He drank about 20 bottles of beer and wore a yellow jacket during the crime. Mrs Matt and two children heard the announcement at home. She expressed relief that the death sentence ended a long fight to care for the remaining children. She said she would not attend the funeral but left decisions to relatives.

Coal county records state the Pope No 2 oil well in section 34 1N SE to the NE NW line was drilled to 7,450 feet after coring 22 feet at 7,362 feet. A one hour 55 minute test yielded 300 barrels of oil with little water through a small choke. Pipe cementing occurred Tuesday night and work was to resume Thursday morning about 120 miles west of here.

Youth in Hospital After Horse Accident Shock

Funeral services for P Olson 54 former East college faculty member held Friday at 2 from the First Christian Church in Okmulgee. She had lived in Okmulgee since resigning from the college staff in 1948 and was killed in a train car crash near Okmulgee along with her daughter Helen and son in law James Pope. Ada friends planned to attend. The family had been returning from a trip to San Antonio. Donald Pope, a brother, accompanied them but was not in the car.
