Central Airlines to fly DC-3s on Ada route
Central Airlines announced Ada will begin service with 24 passenger DC-3 aircraft on November 9 linking Ada with 25 Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas cities. The carrier plans two daily round trips, with Ada traffic connected to Ardmore, Tulsa, Enid, Bartlesville, Dallas and Fort Worth among others, and aims to convert the entire system to twin-engined DC-3 service in 1961.

Allen Proctor Is Taken by Death Funeral Friday
Allen Proctor, former area resident, died at a local hospital Wednesday afternoon. He and his family had moved to Ada, living at 908 East Fourth. The funeral will be Friday at 2 at First Baptist Church with burial in Rosedale cemetery. Surviving are his widow Lou Willie Bradford Proctor, three sons Noel Bradford Proctor of St John Kansas Carroll Milton Proctor and Theron Darrell Proctor of Ada, sisters Mabel West of Tulsa and Mamie Price of Wanette, brothers Walter of Olathe Kansas and Edwin of Kansas City Kansas.

Russians Announce Tibet Invasion Across Frontier
BERLIN Oct 26 Russians announced Chinese forces crossed Tibet's frontier in the early Tuesday hours. Taegliche Rundschau, the Soviet control commission newspaper in Germany, quoted the claim that a formation of the Chinese People's Army crossed the Tibetan frontier. Peiping radio had said Chinese forces in south China were ordered to advance on Tibet. The Red Chinese had hinted at an invasion for months.

Lambert of Ada elected state president EO Worthington Cushing named vice presidents. A roan cow from Pontotoc brought 700 dollars, the heifer 400, with the county average 383 dollars. Attendees included Renzo and Herbert Cooper, Escal Myers, Dr. L. W. Cheek, Dr. Tom Granger and others as they discussed a strong sale and Pontotoc participation. Chickasha elected a dairy congress representative for Oklahoma.

Woman victim of high speed chase fatal crash
A one year old Mooreland woman, Mrs Leotice Allen Jackson, was killed during a 90 mile per hour pursuit with a highway patrol cruiser. Driver George N Barrett suffered only minor injuries as the car overturned along a Woodward county road. The death raised Oklahoma's 1950 highway fatality toll to 388 with 40 deaths in October.

Ada unit historian earns nation’s top unit history honor

Successful Bear Hunt in Colorado by Ada Group
A 14 day Colorado hunting trip for 16 Ada men yielded a one day bear hunt and a near full deer limit for most. Guides reported bears in Blue Canyon near the Utah line in western Colorado as Grady Caldwell claimed a bear then ceded the shot to F. H. Roberts who killed it with two rifle shots.
