Bids Come In Below Estimates For Boggy Flood Sites
Bids were opened for two flood control sites in the Clear Boggy Creek Conservancy District with Bernard Construction Co of Holly, Colorado as apparent low bidder at 100 566 20 below the engineers estimate of 167 324 The second low bid was Mayfield Construction Co of Holdenville at 103 787 15 Twelve bids were submitted for sites No 22 and No 25 located near Stonewall and Sheep Creek respectively Site 25 is to hold 37 acre feet in the permanent pool and is owned by multiple local residents The district plans 54 flood control structures with 33 built or under construction Meanwhile pasture conditions and drought impacts are noted with grazing off and limited cattle movement and little relief from rain expected

Robert D. Calvert of Ada and Dr. Robert Penquite of Okmulgee were named to the Poultry Industry Hall of Fame in Stillwater at a banquet concluding a two day Oklahoma Poultry Industry workshop. Calvert, a feed company executive, represented industry in the hall of fame selection while Penquite, a former OSU staff member, represented education.
