Drought Relief Plea Directed to State Agencies
The County USDA Disaster Committee urges designation as a drought disaster area to access three federal programs via the State USDA Disaster Committee and the State ASCS Committee. The plan includes soil bank grazing, cover crops, and a feed grain program allowing cattle owners to buy surplus grain at about 94 cents a bushel. State Plans Bypass Right-of-Way Purchase Begin Soon
State Senator Allen G. Nichols and Highway Commissioner Truman Branscom announced that right-of-way acquisition for the south leg of the by-pass would start in about two weeks. The Ada Chamber of Commerce Highway Committee heard that the plan follows a statewide funding method based on need and that the West Main extension and Sandy Creek crossing will be developed before the northwest segment to save 30000 to 50000 dollars.
