County farmers increasingly plant King Ranch bluestem for hay and pasture. The grass proves palatable and productive, thriving on heavy soils and stubborn on rocky ground. In Ada area, 35 acres yielded 100 bales per acre last year, with examples from Lazy D ranch and Latta farms showing gradual takeover of Johnson grass and strong self-sowing growth.

Fourth Annual Homecoming At Oakman Draws 300 Attendance
Oakman Community Church hosted its fourth annual homecoming on Sunday October 16 drawing an estimated 300 attendees. Speakers were Marion Caton of Oklahoma City and Rev. Logan Cornelius of Ada, with music by the Oakman Girls Trio and local song leaders. A cemetery land acquisition was approved and a collection taken to fund work on Oakman Cemetery.
