Felony Disfranchisement in Indian Territory Election
Analysis shows up to four thousand residents across Indian Territory could be barred from voting in the constitutional convention due to felony convictions. In the western district alone about 1,000 men would lose suffrage, with most felonies yielding one to three year sentences and many felons returning home after release. The pattern suggests substantial impact on the forthcoming state election.
