Ex-Senator Burton Must Go Ten Jail

Mother perishes in Checotah fire while seeking child

Mrs. H. B. Stoker dies after rushing into a smoke filled room to save a child in a Checotah Oklahoma fire. The blaze started in a negro restaurant and destroyed several frame buildings with an estimated loss of 25000 dollars. Her two children aged 10 and 12 were inside the room on the second floor during the blaze.
