Mrs Beulah Granny Elmore marked her 84th birthday Tuesday October 7 at an Ada nursing home with a surprise party hosted by her daughters. The parlor gathering included cake and ice cream for patients and visitors, group singing, and a visit from her daughter Mrs RD Lee of Montgomery Alabama. Services Held Wednesday for William Norman
Funeral services for William Norman were held at Criswell Chapel on Wednesday October 6 with Rev. John Keith and Rev. J F Roberts officiating. Burial followed at Cedar Grove cemetery. Survived by two sons Truman and Monroe of Seattle four grandchildren and three great grandchildren five sisters two brothers and many nieces and nephews. Uncle Will was a long time Francis resident and well known in surrounding communities.
Weekend Arrests Nab 11 Persons
Eleven people were arrested by city police during the weekend for various offenses including drunken driving speed violations property destruction and drag racing. Two traffic accidents were recorded with three cars in a 1:35 a.m. Sunday pileup on West Main causing minor damages. No charges were filed in either incident and fines totaled $194.

Prof Eases Pecan Harvest With Tree Shaker
Professor Herman Hinrichs of Oklahoma State University h Eisen develops a tractor mounted tree shaker to harvest pecans. The device shakes ten trees per hour and will be shown at the Oklahoma A&M research station field day at Sparks on October 14. It can be built from scavenged materials for about 200 dollars and handles trees up to 30 inches in diameter.
