A humorous household tale describes Mrs. Miniver the cat adopting a family to battle a rat infestation. She and six traps, colored to charm, moved rats and mice from the workshop, creating a rodent free space by using the predators themselves as bait.
In district court Judge John Boyce McKee dismissed the second degree robbery case against R. L. Chronister after a defense motion to suppress evidence. Prosecutor Pat Holman indicated an appeal on a law point. Co-defendant Wilbur Brians had bond forfeiture ordered but the action was rescinded. Brians remains pending. Officers stopped the pair on suspicion alone. trial had begun with severance granted.
Obituary notice for Lindsey Davidson who died October 4 after a heart attack at home. He was superintendent of the Oklahoma Division of Southwest Natural Gas, served as grand master elect of the Oklahoma Lodge, and his funeral was held October 7 at the First Methodist Church in Ada with tribute from Odd Fellows officers. He was born September 25, 1906, and survived by wife Thelma and five children, plus siblings and mother.

Jud and Mrs Renfrow have run cattle and sheep on the same land since 1952 proving the long held feud myths wrong. They cross breed Western ewes with Hampshire bucks to produce better mutton type lambs and note price swings help balance income between cattle and sheep. Wool yields average about 11 pounds per sheep at 40 cents a pound last year.
Aunt Minnie Baugh fell Wednesday morning and broke her right wrist while trying to break the fall with her hand. She was taken to a doctor by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Caperton and by Wednesday evening she felt fine.
