About 160 Pon totoc County Farm Bureau members met at Fitzhugh school for the annual gathering. Congressman Tom Steed spoke praising Harold Davis and Harral Allen for farm legislation work. New board members were elected, delegates chosen for Oklahoma City state convention, and 12 policy resolutions were approved. A memorial service honored Claude Thompson and Raymond Robbins.

The Aransas refuge in Texas hosts birds arriving late October or early November with 28 cranes reaching the Texas coast last fall and 25 migrating north last spring.
