Latta Huggins Starts First Term as Vocational Agriculture Teacher
Jack Huggins 21 begins first term at Latta High School as vocational agriculture instructor. A ML Gibson alumnus, he farmed 440 acres near Ft Gibson, worked as bricklayer, served two years in the Army at Ft Lewis, married Addyla Stratten in Olympia, Wash. He later studied at Oklahoma State University, earning a 1958 agriculture degree. Now at Latta, he teaches three classes plus farm mechanics and aims to build a strong FFA program with academic and moral foundations.

Whisky seized from car in East Seventh block
Police confiscated three gallons of wildcat whisky from a car in the 300 block of East Seventh late Tuesday night. Patrolmen John Hooper and Jake Davis and detective Doyle Crawford arrested the car’s occupants Austin Wright and Ruby Franklin.

Prices Fall In East Central Quarter Horse Sale
Sponsors of the fourth annual East Central Quarter Horse Association sale reported a 17 165 take after 57 horses were offered at Ada fairgrounds. Only 28 horses sold as buyers sought cheaper stock. top price went to Flo gelding pair for 3600. Auctioneer Bill Tackett presided before about 500 in a big tent set between the bars and grand stand.
