Testing Begins At Murray Eight County Bulls In Test
About fifty eight livestock breeders from Oklahoma and other states enter eighty bulls in the Eighth Annual Murray College Beef Performance Test at Murray. Breeds include Angus Hereford Charolais Charbray Red Angus Brangus Milking Shorthorns with entries from Texas Kansas Nebraska. Bulls undergo a 14 day warm up and will be weighed on tests beginning late in the period. The test spans 140 days with weigh periods every 28 days. To earn Performance Registry International recognition bulls must weigh at least 475 pounds at 205 days, average at least 2.6 pounds daily gain, and maintain a weight per day of age of 24.
