Pontotoc Bulls Show High Gains At First Beel Test
In the seventh annual Murray State Agricultural College Beel Performance Test, 44 bulls from Oklahoma Texas Kansas and Nebraska weighed in for a 22 day test. Hereford and Angus leads showed daily gains up to 3.98 pounds with several other bulls posting strong daily gains across Charolais and Polled Hereford classes. The test continues with weighings every 28 days through March 1 and sale set for March 17, 77.

Young County Boy Suffers Gun Wound
A 13 year old boy, James Odom, son of Melvin and unnamed mother, was injured by an accidental gunshot near his Ada area home. The bullet from a .22 rifle entered his mouth and exited near the nose, leaving him in fair condition at Valley View Hospital. Sheriff Oren Phillips stated details are limited as the boy was alone and unable to speak. he believes the incident was accidental.
