Dallas judge John L. Young dies after months of illness
John L. Young former Dallas county judge died Wednesday in a local hospital after a several month illness. His burial will be Thursday in Shreveport beside his parents and an older brother. He was born May 18 1873 in Homer Claiborn parish attended primary school there moved to Shreveport in 1881 and graduated from Washington and Lee law school. He practiced in Dallas 40 years served as senior member of Young Blakley and Cooper and was a former general attorney for Atlantic Oil and Producing Co. He held numerous bar memberships and was active in Idlewild club Dallas Hunting and Fishing club and First Presbyterian Church. He never married and is survived by a sister two brothers and several nieces and nephews.
