Editorial charges Oklahoma railroad appraisals undervalue Santa Fe assets

The New State Tribune analyzes the Oklahoma board of appraisers report on the Atchison Topeka Santa Fe Railway. It finds the valuation per mile far below market and questions legality and fairness versus Missouri and Texas values, urging broader scrutiny of all railroad assessments in the territory. The piece contrasts $3,900 per mile with market values and argues the appraisal may violate state law and harm taxpayers. It also notes potential court town creation in Indian Territory tied to the Indian appropriation bill.
