Clyde Alletag longtime circulation manager and pressroom superintendent of the NEWS died from a heart attack at his home in Ada. He served the paper 41 years guiding circulation from 6500 to 10500 subscribers across ten counties and earned leadership roles in the Oklahoma Circulation Managers Association. Survived by wife Ruth two children Roy and Mrs Robert Watson.

Jim and Mrs. Born transformed a 30 year neglected site in Stonewall into a large retirement home built by the couple themselves. They cleared the lot, rebuilt the foundation, wired and plumbed, installed water from a buried well, added a picture window, gardened intensively, and plan an expanding living space while living on a pay-as-you-go basis with no debt.
