Falling prices for twine and wire hit farm costs
The Agriculture Department reports twine and wire used in baling hay are falling due to larger supplies and expect further declines this summer. Natural fiber twine may drop to about $20 a bale and synthetic to around $17, while wire could fall from $30–$35 to about $25 per 100 pound box.
