Screwworm program continues in Pontotoc County
Oklahoma's screwworm eradication effort continues with weekly stockman reporting and sample kits. Last year 22 positive screwworm cases contrasted with 439 in 1962. by May 12, 1964, 140 samples were submitted with none positive. Lightning Ridge Man Dies From Gunshot Wound
A 25 year old Lightning Ridge man Alvis Griffith died two hours after a gunshot wound to the forehead from a 22 caliber rifle. He left home with the rifle Saturday morning his wife found him in front of Valley View Hospital where doctors failed to save him.
