Dallas May 24 A two mile stretch of experimental cotton fabric road will be built in northern Dallas county using long strips of cotton fabric over a primed base as in carpet laying. The fabric costs about 700 dollars per mile, with asphalt surfacing from 1200 to 1500 dollars per mile. Proponents say the fabric prevents edge cracking and extends life by three to five years, offsetting the extra cost.
