Ardmore reports the death of Rob McBee age 75 the bookkeeper for Tyler and Simpson company after drowning in Chickasaw Lake Sunday afternoon. He was found after hours submerged thirty minutes from safety and his body recovered by a rope hook. He recently moved from Sherman Texas to Ardmore.

Jap Forces Win First Land Engagement in Korea
The New York Herald reports that on March 30 in Korea Japanese forces captured Chong-Ju after hours of fighting, with three Japanese killed and ten wounded while Russian losses are unknown. A separate London dispatch notes Japanese casualties of five killed and twenty-two wounded. In Nagasaki a plan to seal Port Arthur is outlined using twenty eight converted steamships to block the harbor and block Russian ships.

Dynamite Explodes Beside Negro Boarding House in Quiet City
About 8 30 p m a dynamite blast under a rear room of Joun W beard's building on North Broadway sent blacks fleeing from a boarding house kept by a Negro. A four by two foot hole tore the floor and furniture overturned as residents rushed outside. Salvation Army services disrupted and cash collected at the drum reduced to 40 cents.

Man Woolly Dies in Wynnewood Box Car Mystery
A man named Woolly from Magazine Arkansas was found dying in a Wynnewood box car. He died after medical help failed. Letters identifying him and $20 in cash were found on his person. Relatives in Magazine were notified.

Little Reek Arkansas March 28 unofficial returns show Gov Jefferson Davis with 222 delegates from enough counties to win the Democratic State convention. Judge Carroll D Wood has 162 delegates, leaving 62 undecided. Gas Well Goes Out of Control at Ramona Oklahoma Territory

Oklahoma City to Shawnee Rail Line Opens April 3
The M. W. & T. railroad begins operations on a new line from Oklahoma City to Shawnee Maud Ada Coalgate Lehigh Atoka Durant Denison and points south starting Sunday April 3. One passenger and one freight train run each way between Oklahoma City and Atoka with specific schedule times for the outbound and return trips. Freight service will provide Ada with second and third morning deliveries from Kansas City and St Louis respectively.
