The package was dispatched from Kansas City with a receipt, but the Great Bend postmaster has no record and inspectors search for it. The Ada Asphalt Co began oil prospecting twelve miles east of the city with a heavy drill that can reach 2,000 feet. If no oil is found, there is none in the vicinity. Holdenville, I T March 24 five men were arrested on charges of disposing of liquor in the Indian Territory. United States Marshal Bennett and three deputies uncovered a six bootlegger operation in Holdenville, confiscating a large whiskey cache near a prominent hotel. One suspect escaped.
