First Storm Of Season Smashes Tupelo Area
A late Monday storm packing wind and possible small tornadoes hit Tupelo. Barns suffered heavy damage including the Willie Perry place near Treves ground with a new barn ~2 000 dollars. Minor house damage, no injuries reported, and heavy rainfall created widespread yard flooding.

Ada residents and pecan growers are invited to a Monday spraying demonstration and grove tour led by County Agent Cy Hailey. The eighth annual Murray College bull sale was held Saturday with 142 bulls selling for a gross of $82,510.
