Francis and Mrs. Kelley uncover Newton I T city laws from 1904 detailing street office creation, marshal duties, night watch, and fines for disturbances. Rules restrict loud behavior, public gatherings, and gambling with penalties from one to twenty-five dollars.
Fitzhugh youth Michael Lucas reports from Washington on the 29th national 4 H conference with delegates from 50 states Canada and other nations. Oklahoma members include George Tarr Sue Dyson and Suzanne Crawford. They helped with staging recreation television and discussion committees and produced a USDA broadcast and TV shorts. The group visits senators Arlington Cemetery and dedicates a room for Alice Carlson Moffitt.
Ada Livestock Auction, Inc plans a new expansion adding 1000 pen capacity along the western edge to house 4000 head. Manager Sherwood O Neal notes doubled volume over the prior year with most months rising, selling shifts from noon to 10 am starting June 30, and potential two sale days per week as demand grows.
Oklahoma State University agronomist Dr. Ralph Matlock reports 65 000 acres of test plantings include guar sesame safflower and mungbean. Groceries from these crops could yield up to 2 500 000 for farmers with sesame returning 90 per acre and safflower 60 per acre.
Mrs. Patton and Miss Jim Marshall were frightened when a huge snake appeared in the Frisco front yard as Mrs. Patton washed beets on the porch and her dog yelped. Mr. Patton rushed to fetch a hoe to deal with the reptile.

St Flinn Eldon Wanda and her small daughter Shelia and Caye Ann Uhlich were guests at a Flinn family reunion at the home of Frank P Flinn of Lindsay Sunday.
Mrs Arvel Davis hosted Deloris and Debra Davis of Ahloso with other relatives gathering over the weekend. Numerous households from Oklahoma City Stratford and Monahans visited, joined travel to Washita River fishing trips, picnic at Lake Texoma, and a large gathering at Wintersmith Park.
Mr and Mrs Doyle Hastings travel to Camp Adaka with Mr and Mrs G W Lee to attend amp Fire ceremonies in which the Lees daughter participated. They also visit the J D Cooks in Ardmore and enjoy a picnic at Murray. Visitors to the Arvel Davis home include Mr and Mrs B Stephens on Tuesday night.
Mrs Irene Unterkircher and Mrs Colleen Roberts with children visited B M Stephens home to bring Mrs Bessie Gentry back. While there she received word that her grandson had died, ending the visit with sorrowful news.
Mr and Mrs Dug Kretsinger celebrate the birth of their daughter Mary Fd na in Bowie Texas where the child spent two weeks visiting her grandmother.
Mr and Mrs Pat Patterson and sons Frank and Mike of Fontana California visited her mother Mrs Smith Hudson on June 12 during a California trip. Mrs Patterson formerly Gladys Falter was born and raised in Union Valley and has lived in California for 12 years.
The Free Will Baptist revival led by Rev. L. D. Stone cipher continues at Cedar Grove. In his absence Rev. Ward Wood of Stratford conducted both services and guests included Rev. and Mrs. Wood and local families and visitors from Ada and Wilford Eldon Janie and Steve Lee.
Sunday guests at Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Hooser included Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Markham and children Mrs. Lula Simpson of Calera and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hooser with Dewayne and Debbie. Siblings visit by Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Sliger and family Don L Karen Judy and Howard Wayne with Loy Wilmoth of Ahloso.
Dude Clifton spends several days in Ada staying with Mr and Mrs E Ray and their daughter Marian.
Garrett Beller of the State Highway Dept. is vacationing this week with his wife to paint their house and go fishing. Mrs. Dora Price and Shade Price visited Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Noble Holman, and children Leroy Donna and Freddie.
Mr and Mrs Garrett Beller and Mrs M C Kirkland attended church services at Davis Wednesday night. Garretts brother Rev Archie Beller is pastor of the church and their nephew Rev Danny Beller is holding a revival.
Ed Roundtree and Mrs. Roundtree celebrate Father’s Day with six of their seven children present. The gathering includes Warren Shumard and family Jackie Carolyn Don Kathleen Cynthia, L G Hooser and Johnny Janis, R L Voyles and Gary Iva Lou.
Vickie and Steve visited Oklahoma City on Tuesday of last week. Vickie had a follow up with the plastic surgeon who performed a facial graft five years ago and reports the face has cleared up nicely.
Mr and Mrs McKinly Deatherage have moved into the house they purchased from T H Sliger. The dwelling was relocated to the site of the Deatherage home that burned previously.

GERLOFFS VISIT BRIDGEPORT Mr and Mrs Deibert Gerloff and children Juanita and Delton visited Bridgeport, staying from Wednesday to Sunday with Quince Kerr and family. Treva Kerr accompanied them home after a time of catfishing and fellowship.
