Two Die In Wreck Near Ada On SH 99
Pontotoc County records its first traffic deaths of the year after a mishap on SH 99 five miles south of Ada Tuesday morning. Lloyd Thacker, 73, of Oklahoma City died at the scene. Prada Watson, 70, of Dallas, later died at Valley View Hospital. Bessa Thacker, injured, rested at the same hospital. The car, a 1954 Mercury, left the highway, skidded 273 feet, rolled twice, and stopped in a pasture. Thacker was thrown 29 feet. the driver’s identity was not determined. The party was en route to a funeral in Ada.
