Stonewall Opens Ball Park with Night Game Victory
The Stonewall team hosted the first baseball game at the new ball park on Friday night. Volunteers completed the backstop and lighting and then the Stonewall squad defeated the visiting teams. Jet year olds won 54 while the high school game finished 6 to 5.

Antlers Man Injured in Two Car Collision
George Arthur Brown of Antlers sustained multiple fractures after a two vehicle crash near Antlers at Rattand. Fishing for the Future in Ada Aids Hatchery Bass and Bluegill
A Reagan hatchery shipment reached Ada with about 13 500 bass and 23 000 bluegill distributed to 49 residents. Landowners queued with buckets and milk cans as fish were loaded into containers and sent to waiting farm ponds for a summer of fishing ahead.

The eighth annual alumni banquet Saturday evening in the McLish High School gym featured speaker Frank Streetman of Sasakwa. 1942 graduate Paul Williams and sister Doris Williams Flesher, both of Kilgore Texas, received recognition for traveling the greatest distance. Roy Holloway, class of 87, earned an award for having the most children. Emma Steffy and the first 1937 graduates Howard and Ed Asbury attended. Officers elected: Leroy Ross president Bill Thompson vice president Coye Uhlich secretary. Women of the local Methodist church prepared the meal. attendance was below average.

VANOSS The fourth annual Vanoss Alumni Association meeting gathered about 200 at the old Vanoss gym on June 7. Attendees from classes ’23 to ’59, including 1924 reps David L. Tiffin and James Williard Owens, enjoyed a fried chicken supper. New officers for 1984 proposed by the nominating committee were Carson Phillips president, J. T. Truck Banner Wreck Poles After Collision In Main Street
A east Main Street collision caused a banner and lighting pole system, funded by the Chamber of Commerce and others, to collapse. A truck dragging a banner bent the poles and shattered a car windshield. the driver reportedly did not stop. The incident prompted insurance review and questions about display legality.

Descendants Honor Mr Vandiver On 96th Birthday
George Vandiver celebrated his 96th birthday at the Truitt Home in Davis with a large gathering of descendants and friends from Ardmore Ada and Jesse. The event honored two longtime friends Mrs Nellie Barnes and Mrs Don Daniels along with Vandiver and his family including daughters grandchild and great grandchildren. Vandiver a lifelong Oklahoman was a cowboy and musician who now walks with a cane and remains sharp with tales of pioneer days.
