Secretary Ezra Taft Benson outlined a 1936 soil bank concept at a May press conference. The plan would pay farmers in areas with late crops for plowing up already planted fields and reducing acreage below allotments, using a base unit rate to determine payments.
Carlton Corbin, Mrs. Corbin, Bill and Mary Corbin attended the Oklahoma Aberdeen Angus Breeders Association Field Day at Oklahoma A&M Fort Reno. Mary Corbin placed third high individual in the 4 H judging contest. Dr Doyle Chambers and Dwight Stephens spoke on progeny testing and performance.
The Vanoss alumni association held its second annual meeting and gala reunion on Saturday night June 2 with over 100 graduates and spouses in attendance. Officers elected for the coming year include President Joe Martin Stratford Secretary J T Murphy Center and Mrs C Hunt Stratford. Next on the schedule is the McLish alumni meeting June 9 at 7 30 p m in the McLish gymnasium with reservations via Helen Green Route 3 Ada. Mrs. Doyle Thomas finds a large centipede in a back box and later a snake behind the bathtub. Neighbors identify the reptile as a mouse snake while the family fears a dangerous creature prowling their home. The incident spurred alarm and a quick tour of the washing and bathroom areas.

Alph Stanphill notes that year round rabbit hunting could end if protected, and some hunters favor a split or shorter season to protect breeding females and allow parent stock to raise broods.
