Liquor Said To Have Helped Cause Plane Crash
Dr. Alexander Voettler's chemical analysis of Wilmer Stultz and two passengers found a large amount of alcohol in the body, stomach, brain, liver and kidneys. Stultz piloted Earhart’s ship across the Atlantic and died in a Roosevelt Field crash during a stunt at 500 feet. Negroes Use Voodoo Belief After Drowning Recovery
In Enid, July 8, the body of Albert McDowell, 40, a Negro, was recovered from University Lake after two days of failed searches. Witnesses describe a spiritual rite by Black community members who supposedly invoked voodoo to aid the recovery. McDowell had attempted risky stunts to beat a time record and hold his breath for 15 minutes before drowning.

Autoists Begin Travel Over New Allen Highway
Cars are using the new highway between Ada and Allen though not yet officially accepted by the state. Early users report good condition and fast travel. Officials plan to gravel the route soon to make it an all season road from Ada to points north and east. The section from Allen to Calvin is already gravel surfaced.

The Muskogee county board of commissioners was exonerated in a report by W O Gordon to Attorney General Edwin Dabney.
