In Tecumseh on July 16 a bail release for W. W. Thomason a federal officer, and Jeff Harris an undercover agent, was set for district court this afternoon. Attorney J B Dudley said bond papers would be filed and Judge Hal Johnson would hear the application. They face murder charges for slaying James C Harris during a July 4 liquor raid. Harris is also accused in Oscar Lowerys death. A Shawnee American Legion Post meeting tonight will discuss aiding the families of the victims both veterans of World War I.
Oklahoma City July 16. Mrs. Mary Heard Carleton 80 longtime leader of the State Women’s Missionary Union of the Baptist church and wife of Rev. T. C. Carleton died. Services set for Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. R M Inlow presiding. Burial at Rosehill cemetery. Carleton helped organize the union when Oklahoma became a state and served as its president. She was an active delegate to the Southern Baptist convention in Richmond, Virginia.
