Judge Orel Busby ordered two beaver dams blasted on the Busby 4B Ranch after beaver activity flooded 30 acres, drowning a cow and inundating roads and cattle crossings. Dams were dynamited Sunday with beavers likely to return at night as crews drained the creek network.

County Plans Blacktop Road Near Fittstown
Pontotoc County District 3 rebuilds a three quarter mile road near SH 99 at the south edge of Fittstown used by heavy traffic. Thompson says the project will be paved after use of Cat dozers and motor patrols. County trucks and a loading machine haul shale for the base.
