Dorland Rites Mark Life of Pioneer in Chickasaw Nation
Funeral services for J. H. Dorland were held Sunday at the Methodist church with Pastor Rippey officiating. Dorland who died the day before at 77, was born in Ohio and sought fortune in California during the gold rush before settling in the Chickasaw nation where he engaged in farming ginning stock raising and hotel work. A father of Mrs. Jack Moore and Mrs. M. Z. Nettles both of Aaa, he was described as a pioneer and community builder laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery.
