Oklahoma drives a statewide campaign on Rubella Sunday to immunize 300000 children in a single afternoon. Coordinated by Tom Stubblefield and Dr George K Stephens, the event runs 1 to 5 pm at Fellowship Hall First Christian Church Pontotoc County groups join county nurses and pharmacists to immunize unimmunized children up to age 12. Donations welcome to cover expenses.

HUD approves combined contract for Chickasaw Nation housing
The U S Department of Housing and Urban Development approves a 2 343 483 contract combining two mutual self help projects by the Chickasaw Nation Housing Authority. The plan spans 145 units across 12 counties including Pontotoc Murray Carter Johnston and Coal counties with three and four bedroom brick veneer homes priced at 10 750 and 12 300 respectively.

Ada Coffee House Opens With Music Marathon
Ada's first coffee house opens at 7 p.m. with a music marathon at The Abyss inside the United Christian Student Center at 12th and Francis. Three bands and four folk singers perform, with events running until 1 a.m. and resuming Friday morning. The venue closes during the basketball game and reopens with more entertainment until 1 a.m. Saturday. It serves college students only.
