Muddy Boggy Group Elects Officers At Allen
About 200 landowners and conservation workers gathered at Allen High School to organize the Upper Muddy Boggy Watershed Association. Officers named include Philip Busby president and Tuss Bond vice president. 242000 acres across Pontotoc Coal Hughes Pittsburg and Atoka counties. A 10-member board was chosen with five county reps and five at large. The group plans flood control under Public Law 66 and will seek formation of a conservancy district with signatures from 28 percent of landowners to negotiate with the U S Department of Agriculture.
