Boiler Explosion Injures Weatherford Students
Weatherford January 11 three student employees at the Southwestern State Teachers College power plant were injured when a boiler exploded and a fire gutted the 830 000 building. Frank Shanklin 20 Bridgeport suffered severe burns to face leg and arm while Dennis Lawley 22 Weatherford and Elwood Winchester 20 Okmulgee had minor burns. Officials reported the plant a total loss and blamed a faulty safety valve for the blast.

Pioneer Oklahoma Resident Is Dead
Mrs Iva Latta 63 pioneer Oklahoman widow of Thomas A Latta former editor of the Tulsa World and the Oil and Gas Journal died today after a long illness. Married in 1900 they lived in Claremore Bartlesville Oklahoma City and returned here in 1919 to make their home. Five sons and four daughters survive. Funeral services will be held here Friday morning with burial in Bartlesville.
