In Odessa Texas cowboys dominated the rodeo with Tom Ferguson winning calf roping with 20.9 seconds total and $1,960. Leon Bauerle took steer wrestling at 15.4 seconds earning $549. Ronnie Proctor won bull riding with 79 points and $1,069. Sandy Kirby led bareback riding scoring 77 for $745. Dennis Reiners claimed saddle bronc riding average honors with 148 points. The 1974 convention at Brown Palace begins Monday as about 100 of 600 association rodeos are reviewed. The National Western Stock Show rodeo starts Friday in Denver with 800 entries and nearly $120,600 in prize money through Jan 20.

Five thousand copies of The States and Their Indian Citizens were sold by the Superintendent of Documents between January and August 1973. Because of demand, the book has been reprinted and is available again. The Indians with their traditional independence, resourcefulness, and close ties to mature provide the United States with its unique character.
