A cooperative Oklahoma project near Strat ford built a seven acre pond on the west side of a county road to counter flood risk from a planned lake. Lowell Caskey coordinated farmers W Q Henry Floyd Gray and Mrs C D Caskey with county committees and the telephone company. Dirt from the pond formed a dam along the road at a cost about $2000, preserving the road and marking a novel farm pond road combo in the area.

Tire Blows Out On Curve Hospitalizes Roff Youth
An accident six miles southwest of Ada on SH 12 sent 15 year old Jimmy Stinson of Route 3 Roff to Valley View Hospital at 12 45 am with concussion scalp contusions and multiple abrasions. The car driven by Paul Shook 39 of Route 1 Raff careened after a tire blew out. Shook Roy Stephens 16 and Gerald King 15 of Roff were uninjured or had no serious injuries.
