In Idabel Oklahoma Cecil Wallace 25 of Glover and Virgil Crowder were held for trial in McCurtain county district court for the whisky torch slaying of Robert Warren. Crowder confessed to the killing and testified he was hired to kill Warren then poured whisky over the body and burned it to conceal the gunshot wounds. Wallace denied bond after a preliminary hearing. Albert Swann 52 Wallace’s father in law was released.

In Lowell Massachusetts a surgeon in a crane fifty feet above ground amputated John McCoy's right arm using a mechanic's hacksaw. McCoy remained conscious and requested a good job as he descended. He was taken to St Joseph's hospital with a serious condition and risk of pneumonia or infection.
Mrs J J Holden a well known Ada resident died in a local hospital around 7 39 last night after several days of serious illness Her husband J J Holden died a few weeks earlier The Holdens lived in Ada for many years and had recently returned here before his death She is survived by sister Ruth King and Hugh Taylor of Ada
Representative Percy L. Gassaway known as the cowboy congressman rejected a challenge to debate Gomer Smith, Townsend organization vice president, in Tulsa. He ridiculed Smith’s career and said he has no time for pseudo politicians and would not dignify the occasion with a debate.
Mrs. N. J. Carpenter 35 wife of the district engineer for the state conservation flood control service died at Woodward after a brief illness. The body will be sent to Boston Massachusetts her former home.
G. W. Archibald of Durant announced the Oklahoma Press Association will hold its annual spring meeting in Muskogee from May 14 through May 16. The event specifics were disclosed today by the state president.
