Washington February 10 The Supreme Court extending its wait for a ruling on the constitutionality of the TVA, announces no decision. A crowded audience hoped for a historic verdict but left without action. The court did rule on Huey Long era Louisiana tax on ads for newspapers magazines and motion pictures. Justice Sutherland said the act curtailed revenue and circulation. The decision upheld a Louisiana district court ruling. In New York oil law disputes the court upheld a provision allowing milk sold at a penny below competitors with strong trade names. The ruling concerned Mayflower Farms and Borden's Farm Products Inc with dissents by McReynolds Brandeis Stone Cardozo.
Marcey Sanders 21 of Coalgate is the first Pontotoc county fatality this year after a single vehicle collision about one mile north of Ada on Highway 48. He died at a local hospital from a fractured vertebra.
Five members of the Irisa O Malley gang received 25 year federal sentences after pleading guilty to conspiracy in a 1934 robbery of two Okemau banks. Jury selection began for conspiracies in the shooting of Detective Chief Ben Bolton during a break from Muskogee city jail. Sentenced: Walter Holland alias Irish O Malley Fred Reece Virgil Melton Dew ey Gilmore and Russell Cooper.
Coalgate welcomed Ada Rotary members led by S. Benwell as they explained a Community Hospital plan extended to Coal county C South Carolina officials and citizens pledged swift action and financial support. Chamber of Commerce officials expect broad urban and rural backing when committees present the proposition.
Three men wearing false whiskers robbed a Glen Oak store and took about $12. They topped up a gray coupe’s gas tank and fled east toward Nowata.
The Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved in a unanimous vote an abridged neutrality bill extending the arms embargo features to May 1, 1937. It exempts American republics under attack by non‑Americans and drops two major administration provisions while mandating a presidential embargo on loans to belligerents.
Mexico City Feb 10 C P The government directed General Almazan to take control of Tampico and protect union stevedores and rival workers after a mass demonstration sparked gunfire that left three stevedores dead and multiple wounded. Police could not locate those responsible as port operations halted.
Snow blankets deepen from Montana to Ohio as a Texas rainstorm spawns more cold across the region. Temperatures plummet to 10 to 36 below in the northwest while Illinois Indiana and Chicago endure subzero weather. Rescues, road closures, and fuel shortages continue as ice jams and blizzards disrupt transport.
Sheriff Floyd Randolph reported no definite findings after a two day probe into the death of 88 year old Robert Michael, an Ardmore area schoolteacher found beaten to death at his small farm home. Police have slight leads but none encouraging.
Two lawsuits each seeking 20 000 are set for hearing before Federal District Judge Edgar S. Vaught in Oklahoma City in March. Plaintiff Farley near Ada sues Smith Construction for fatal burn of his wife and his own injuries from a collision with a work train on an abandoned Ada to Lehigh line. He seeks 20 000 for his wife’s death and 26 000 for medical and related injuries.
Hugo Oklahoma February 10 funeral services for J. L. Matthews retired oil dealer who died last night will be held here Tuesday. His widow a sister Mrs R N Ware of Moscow Tennessee and a step daughter Mrs Gladys Hoff of Detroit survive Matthews moved to Hugo from Memphis Tennessee in 1900.

An official investigation cleared Steve McNatt of responsibility for a Monday morning crash a mile north of Ada that killed 21 year old Marcey Sanders of Coalgate. Witnesses said Sanders pulled toward McNatt’s side while attempting a westward turn. McNatt was southbound toward Ada. Sanders died from a fractured vertebra after the collision. four others in the car were uninjured. McNatt, former Ada resident now living in Maud, received bruises and cuts and was treated at a local hospital.
Elderly Black man Johnson dies from a cartridge wound after a public safety item drops during his attempt to board a taxi at a North Broadway filling station. The item discharged onto the pavement, piercing his abdomen. he dies in hospital a few hours later. Johnson had worked for the Gilbreaths in Ada and Missouri before relocating. Funeral services set for Thursday.
A sequence of tornadoes ripped Long Beach and Alhambra injuring two people. Homes toppled, dozens of trees were uprooted as gales and blizzards battered the Pacific coast from Oregon to Southern California.

Fene Ellis the tournament director offers a loving cup team trophy plus individual awards for top four in each class and notes entrants must qualify via district meets.
Ira Bashein a 28 year old West Point graduate and former army lieutenant was sentenced to one to two years in prison after being convicted of writing a threatening letter to President Roosevelt. Bashein testified he was intoxicated on May 6 and had no recollection of the act. He said he resigned from the army on June 27, 1933.
