Oklahoma City February 19. A five minute jury verdict in the Bond Gore suit favors Senator Gore. A near instant verdict prompted large crowds to celebrate. Attorneys Rutherford and Stuart argued. the verdict is seen as vindication and may trigger reprisal rumors and possible arrests in a conspiracy case against Gore supporters.
At Love Station a mob of about 50 masked men seized passengers and sheriff E F Nichols to abduct John McGuirk and Bill Phillips. McGuirk was hanged from a bridge while Phillips, spared, returned to custody. Nichols later transported to Hernando with the other prisoner.

One hundred ten passengers were rescued by Louisville life savers, with no lives lost. Passengers rushed to the decks and some women nearly jumped into the water as crew restrained them. Baggage was saved with difficulty.
San Francisco February 18 J B Smith vice president and general manager F C Mills superintendent and E H Mayer chief weigher of Western Fuel Co found guilty of defrauding the government via illegal rebates and false weights. E L Smith acquitted. Case cost over 200000 in prosecutions and involved about 300000. Long trial since December 9 delayed by holidays and prompted a resignation of Federal District Attorney Nab.
Gen Jose Ynez Salazar the most guarded Mexican prisoner at Fort Bliss requested confinement in a cell at the post guardhouse. Guards were ordered to shoot if rescue appeared and Salazar feared a decoy demonstration. A second note from the Cumbre tunnel bandit Castillo was read, signed McCormick, indicating he is alive near Las Palomas ranch amid 400000 acres.
Miss Blanche Bradley died at 2 PM Monday at the home of her uncle and aunt, George Curtis and wife, on West 12th Street. Her body was later taken by Frisco train to Henryetta for interment. The News extends sympathy to the sorrowing family.

The Georgia supreme court affirmed Leo Frank's death sentence for the murder of 14 year old Mary Phagan. Frank, superintendent at a pencil factory, was condemned to hang. execution was delayed during the appeal, which the court decided today.
Justice R L Williams announced from the Supreme Court bench that he will resign to Gov Cruce tomorrow. The resignation becomes effective March 10. Williams is a Democratic candidate for governor.
In Hancock Michigan on February 18 witnesses before a Congressional hearing labeled a December raid on strikers a reign of terror. Deputies clashed with miners after two deputies were shot with women and children frightened. Mrs Amerigo Monticello and her husband testified deputies forced entry and used violence in their home.
Eagle Pass Texas February 17 Thirty cavalry troops and a battery of the Third Field Artillery at San Antonio have been ordered to Fort Sam Houston and will leave about February 20 marching overland Four troops of the Third Cavalry and a Battery of Field Artillery at Laredo will depart February 22 leaving their posts for the same destination.
The West Pennsylvania Powder Works at Tunnelton, Johnstown area, was blown up this morning. The mixing house was blown to atoms and other buildings burned. Two killed and two missing, with the concussion felt 25 miles away.
New York Feb 18 The schooner Kineo with eleven crew members is in imminent danger of sinking near Northeast Diamond Shoals off Cape Hatteras. The revenue cutter Onondaga has been ordered from Norfolk to assist.
In Washington on February 18 Vice President Marshall and Secretary of State Bryan will headline the tenth annual dinner of the Washington University Club as chief speakers for the event.
While in the city Monday W. M Franklin of Madill admitted that he might possibly enter the race for clerk of the supreme court in opposition to W. H. L. Campbell and Ode Crawford. He has gained favorable notice since statehood and has a large acquaintance from his prior race for congressman at large two years ago, which could help him in a potential bid.
In Elreno Oklahoma Susie Doss 40 was found shot in her home while her husband C E Doss a Rock Island clerk faced arrest amid circumstantial evidence and a confession claims he bought shells for the revolver. The Rev Lincoln McConnell announced the confession at a revival service.
After a long day Monday the county commissioners elected R E Duncan to fill the unexpired sheriff term. Duncan has served three years as deputy sheriff with a record of efficient service. The decision followed a large field of candidates, and the public will likely approve despite some disappointment among opponents.
President Wilson told a United Mine Workers committee that charges against Federal Judge A G Dayton of the Northern District of West Virginia would be investigated. The panel urged DOJ review after alleging Dayton called labor unions criminal and cited discrimination against union members.
Lord Weardale, head of the British Peace Centenary committee, was whipped and knocked down by a suffragette in London. Police arrested a woman who refused to reveal her identity. the attack is believed to stem from mistaking Weardale for Premier Asquith.
Washington February 17 The final tribute to Senator Bacon of Georgia was paid today in the senate. There was no eulogy or music or flowers, only a simple Episcopal church funeral service. Bishop Harding read the service with reserved seats for Congress Supreme Court and top officials.
Capetown Feb 18 The assembly of the Union of South Africa rejected woman suffrage by a single vote. The decision ends the long campaign for voting rights for women in the union.
The normal school baseball team opened spring practice today under coach Prof Clark. The squad shows good material and aims for state honors in the American game. A full review of the team will be released later.
Orleans Massachusetts February 17 four sailors from the Italian bark Castagna were drowned when the vessel ran aground on the outer Cape Cod bar near Capoon Hollow life saving station. Life savers rescued eight frost bitten men, leaving four bodies in the rigging covered with ice.
The disabled French liner Niagara was sighted today off Lands End Cornwall east bound returning to Havre.
