Longtime peace officer Lem Mitchell of Ada Oklahoma died Tuesday afternoon after a work accident near Tupelo. His leg was amputated after being crushed by a freight train wheel, and he succumbed to loss of blood. Funeral services set for Thursday at his home with Masonic rites.
