Rustlers Take Yearling Calf Near Booth Downs
A yearling calf was stolen late Friday night or early Saturday from Booth Downs on the east side of State Highway 99 near the Jack Fork Bridge. A truck reportedly backed from the highway, fence was cut, and the calf removed from the pasture. It is unclear if the animal was loaded alive or after being killed. The sheriff notes this is the first case in the area, though cattle bells have been reported in Gatlin, Poltawstomic and Hughes Counties.
