Pressure on Sandy Creek project deadline nears
The Sandy Creek Conservancy District races to secure easements for flood control structures before a March 1 deadline. Senator Kerr informs Harral Allen that 565,001 is allotted for FY1959, plus 386,717 for FY1958, totaling 931,817 for two years, with 1,549,139 federal cost overall. The funds apply to construction only, not easements, so unless easements are secured and plans drawn, 366,717 for this year cannot be obligated. If obtained, the project could finish in about four years. Ada businessmen and Chamber of Commerce assist in landowner outreach. Sandy Creek is the first project under Public Law 566 amended.

Vanoss Kids Explore Transportation On Field Trip
Vanoss first grade students guided by Mrs. Ann Dunn visited a fire station a depot and an airport as part of travel study. They saw a real fire alarm, watched firemen slide down poles and listened to telegraph messages. Nineteen pupils attended the trip returning by 3 35 pm and praised station personnel for kindness.
