Fred F Brydin Ada Charles Bryce McAlester and J Woody Dixon Marietta visiting East Central State Teachers College to inspect needed repairs. They say the last legislature budgeted nothing for repairs and will likely propose an emergency appropriation. Bryce Dixon Brydia departed for home and Ada remains for the week.
Paris January 30 The disagreement between Great Britain and Turkey over the Irak frontier and Mosul oil fields was laid before the League of Nations council by Earl Balfour. The council delayed action awaiting a Turkish reply to the league's possible decision.
In Lausanne on January 30 delegates from Turkey and Greece signed two treaties. One calls for mutual return of prisoners of war and hostages while the other enforces compulsory exchange of civilian populations in occupied territories.
J M Geer traveling salesman for Speer Hardware Co McAlester says three men on horseback held him up near Steadman last night. They covered him with guns while another man rifled his pockets taking all money except his watch. He was unharmed as the trio vanished into darkness.
Ada's planned fair ground and amusement park by Honest Bill Newton advances with two water dams nearly complete. The 50 acre site north of Ada, valued at 30 000 dollars, will feature two new two story barns and a training building with an orchestra pit, aiming for a public opening next summer.

Mitchell, the Negro charged in the January 19 slayings of W. E. Holt and Mrs. Ethel Dencamp, has been moved to Dallas county jail for safekeeping. Sheriff Stegall said sufficient evidence exists for continued investigation. He matched the description of the killer of Harold Bolton and Grady Skipworth and hinted at more crimes to be revealed. Mitchell proclaimed his innocence.
