In Tupelo Mississippi on January 24, two bandits robbed a jewelry store of diamonds valued at 2000 dollars and fought a gun battle with the sheriff’s posse wounding town marshal W L Bryant of Blue Springs. A third man named Tom Huff of Shawnee Oklahoma was captured during the escape. Huff, a youth, is jailed in Tupelo while the other two remain at large.
Tim Pennell and Frank Blackburn leading oil operators died at Iola hospital from broken necks after their auto overturned en route to an oil lease. Both leave families.

Thomas Jondides, representative in the Near East for a major American building firm, was reported hanged by Turkish authorities in Smyrna after he allegedly funded Greek patriotic societies. The dispatches from Smyrna confirm the execution occurred earlier today.
Engineers from Oklahoma University schools of engineering praised Ada citizens for unbounded hospitality during an inspection tour of the Oklahoma Portland Cement plant and local industries. They thanked the Lions club for entertainment and listed car owners who chauffeured the visitors. The delegation then proceeded to McAlester Wilburton and Tulsa.
The Pontotoc county grand jury hearings continue as they probe municipal leadership in Ada. Witnesses from across the county are summoned with several more expected Thursday. Nineteen true bills were issued in the first report, with seven indictments in district court and twelve in county court. The sole remaining Fisher indictment is perjury. The panel stays in session through Friday.
The strikers told a legislative committee investigating Harrison disturbances that citizens' committee members threatened them with violence to force return-to-work or leave the railroad territory.
