A humorous, weather themed note recounts heavy rain in Pantaloc County. The weatherman relented Tuesday night and Wednesday brought a surprising downpour, totaling 2.39 inches for December so far, the month’s heaviest in months with 21 days remaining.
A survey party from state and federal agencies conducted a preliminary reconnaissance of the Upper Clear Bogsy Conservancy District on December 13 in Pontotac and Coal Counties. The two projects, Upper Clear Buggy and Leader Creek Michie Clear Buggy, span about 270000 acres with flood prevention and watershed improvement potential and reclaimed bottom land. Further shore detailed studies of structure locations will follow.

A county judge granted Sheriff Ray Goodwin permission to dispose of toxicating liquor stored in the county courthouse vault. The order covers intoxicants seized in seven raids on county bootleggers and not needed as evidence.
