Tax Expert Proposes Reclassifying Federal Taxes
Former tax adviser Lovell Parker urged a three class system dividing normal, surtax, and a new super tax on net incomes. He claimed reclassification could raise revenue and spur employment and investment while allowing deductions for wages, home plants, education, and charitable contributions. The plan aims to keep levies similar, not higher. Industrial output showed a rebound with gains in steel, automobiles, and textiles, per the Board of Trade.
