County splits on $490000 roads bond plan for Ada area

Ada chamber steering committee asks county board to call a $490000 roads bond issue to fund right of way for three projects including a south city highway through the water research area and a west bee line link. Homer Takes Bids For Water

The Delta Construction Co of Oklahoma City bid 58 658.50 as the apparent low bid for a Homer water project. Six other firms submitted bids. Carl Steele of Ground Water Associates will review the bids. The Homer Water Association expects to award the contract in about a week with 90 working days to complete.

Space exhibits slated for Oklahoma State Fair 1964

The Oklahoma State Fair 1964 will feature two major space exhibits after NASA confirmed plans. Fair manager Sandy Saunders says the displays will fill large blocks in two exhibit halls and center on a prominent space science show. Gateway to Space, produced by the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, debuts in the region with five triads of vehicles and satellites illustrating national space exploration.

Farm Ponds Offer Water Source for Oklahoma Homes

Oklahoma farm ponds serve mainly livestock needs but in parts of the state they provide household water. A three step treatment uses alum to settle sediment, a sand filter to clarify, and chlorine to kill bacteria. Plans and specifications are available from the county agent or Extension Circular No. 580 from Oklahoma State University.
